Thomas Sorber and Brooks Barnhizer Round Out OKC’s 2025 Draft Class

For the first time as NBA Champions, the Oklahoma City Thunder have used a draft pick.

Thomas Sorber, a 6-foot-9 center from Georgetown, comes to OKC as a long-term fit as a rotation big or the eventual replacement to Isaiah Hartenstein.

As a freshman with the Hoyas, Sorber averaged 14.5 points, 8.5 rebounds and 2.5 assists. He’s also an elite rim protector who averaged two blocks and 1.5 steals during his one season in college.

He’s known for his feel as a passer from the center position, which fits well with the system that OKC coach Mark Daigneault wants to employ.

OKC has one selection left at No. 24, but it remains to be seen whether or not it will end up making that pick.

The Oklahoma City Thunder added versatility and toughness to their roster by selecting Brooks Barnhizer with the 44th overall pick in the 2025 NBA Draft.

A 6-foot-7 guard/forward out of Northwestern, Barnhizer made his mark as a gritty defender and high-IQ playmaker with a strong feel for the game. Known for his hustle, rebounding, and ability to impact both ends, he fits the Thunder’s mold of smart, team-first players.

Barnhizer adds wing depth and brings a mature, competitive edge to an already deep and dynamic OKC rotation, though he’ll probably be a two-way option for OKC, who will spend the majority of his time with OKC’s G League affiliate, Oklahoma City Blue.
