Chet Holmgren tells story of how he was contacted by Lil Durk prior to concert

As many may know, Drake’s It’s All A Blur Tour with J. Cole had an extended two-night stay in Oklahoma City, and in typical OKC fashion, it shut the city down. OKC may be one of the quickest-growing cities in the United States, but when it comes to big concerts, it still has a ways to go (which is partially why construction on a new arena is on the cusp).

Drake shouted out his long-time friend and Oklahoma City Thunder point guard Shai Gilgeous-Alexander during the concert, actually featuring the NBA’s leading MVP candidate in the “Virginia Beach” intro, which kicked off his set.

Drake showed the city of Oklahoma City and its young stars tons of love. Lil Durk, a Chicago-based artist who opened for Drake and J. Cole, actually invited Thunder rookie Chet Holmgren to accompany him while walking in the arena for his opening set.

We got the chance to ask Holmgren about the inter-workings of him collaborating with Durk, and he gave us a quick explanation of how that went down.
