Famed attorney Gloria Allred has confirmed that she is representing the family involved in the accusations against Oklahoma City Thunder point guard Josh Giddey. Allred is known for advocating for women in cases against influential figures.
Recently, the Newport Beach, California, police department initiated an investigation following the NBA’s announcement of its own inquiry. The investigation was prompted by a now-deleted post from an anonymous social media user last month, claiming that the individual seen with Giddey in videos and photos was a high school junior at the time. The social media account associated with these claims has since been deactivated.
Giddey and the Thunder have opted not to comment on the situation thus far. Despite the ongoing investigation, Giddey has continued to play a crucial role in the team’s performance, contributing to their impressive 13-6 start, currently sitting second in the Western Conference.
OKC’s sixth pick of the 2021 NBA Draft earned recognition on the All-Rookie second team during the 2021-22 season. Notably, he averaged of 16.6 points, 7.9 rebounds, and 6.2 assists per game. Giddey’s talent also shone on the international stage, leading the Australian team with an average of 19.4 points at this year’s World Cup, where they achieved a commendable 3-2 record. This season, Giddey averages 12.0 points, 5.7 rebounds and 4.2 assists per game on 42.7% shooting from the field.
