Breaking: Derek Fisher Suspected of DUI After Crash

Former NBA point guard and ex-New York Knicks head coach Derek Fisher was arrested Sunday morning on suspicion of drunken driving after he crashed his car on the 101 Freeway in Southern California. Fisher was accompanied by former “Basketball Wives” reality star Gloria Govan. They both escaped injury free.

The crash took place right after 3 a.m. going westbound towards the 405 Freeway interchange. Fisher was driving a 2015 Cadillac.

Driving in the fourth lane, Fisher’s vehicle started veering towards the paved right shoulder. The vehicle continued across the right shoulder and hit the raised concrete curb and metal guardrail.

As result, the vehicle overturned and came to rest on its roof, blocking two lanes of the northbound Freeway.

Note: the woman that accompanied Fisher, Gloria Govan, happens to be current Golden State Warriors forward Matt Barnes’ ex-wife. She’s also the mother of Barnes’ twin boys. She and Fisher have reportedly been dating since 2015.

This just adds a little more fuel to the fire between Fisher and Barnes, who were teammates for two seasons with the Lakers.  Also in 2015, Fisher and Barnes got into some sort of altercation over Govan.
