Game 6 Preview: Oklahoma City Thunder at Chicago Bulls

Game 6 Preview: Oklahoma City Thunder at Chicago Bulls.

After another heartbreaking loss, The Oklahoma City Thunder (2-3) will have the possibility to bounce back immediately tonight in Chicago against the Chicago Bulls (1-3).

The Bulls are probably one of the worst team in the league, and despite being on the second night of back to back, the Thunder should be able to win this game.

Keys to the Game

Rebounds – The Bulls are shooting 40% from the floor, and 33% from behind the arc. This will probably lead to a lot of missed shots and consequently to a lot of rebounds. In the first five game of this season, the Thunder struggled in what used to be the main strength in the past years: rebounding. It needs to change in order for Oklahoma City to succeed. The Thunder are 29th in rebounds per game this season after being first for the past three years.

Defend without fouling – Obviously, this is not an easy task, but a necessary one. The Thunder should start with an aggressive and physical defense, see how the officials react and adjust accordingly. If they call fouls whenever there is a light contact, then the defense has to be smarter, a better communication, and more help from the weak side. So far, this season, Oklahoma City ranks 22nd in fouls per game at 23.2.

Stay Focused – The Thunder are without a doubt the better team tonight. The players know it, and this might cause them to relax, especially on the second night of a back to back. If they underestimate the Bulls, it might get dangerous. Remember, Chicago went toe to toe with the Cavs last Tuesday, before giving it up in the last minutes of the game.
