Oklahoma City Thunder General Manager Sam Presti was named the 2024-25 NBA Executive of the Year on Tuesday morning.
The award, which recognizes the league’s top front-office architect, highlights Presti’s ability to construct a roster that finished with a league-best 68-14 record—tied for the sixth-best mark in NBA history.
Statement from Sam Presti
During Presti’s 17-year tenure in Oklahoma City, the Thunder have reached the playoffs 12 times, captured seven Northwest Division titles, earned one Western Conference championship and made one NBA Finals appearance. In that span, the team has produced two league MVPs—Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook—and potentially a third with Shai Gilgeous-Alexander’s candidacy this season. Oklahoma City has also seen two head coaches win Coach of the Year honors: Scott Brooks and Mark Daigneault.
Six players have earned All-Star selections under Presti’s leadership: Durant, Westbrook, Paul George, Chris Paul, Gilgeous-Alexander and Jalen Williams.
This marks yet another accolade in what has been a historic season for the Thunder.

This is great!
