Thunder forward Ousmane Dieng out with fractured finger

Oklahoma City Thunder forward Ousmane Dieng has suffered a small fracture in his right ring finger, the team announced. The injury occurred during Friday’s OKC Blue game.

Dieng will be sidelined as he recovers and is set to be re-evaluated in 3-4 weeks. Further updates on his status will follow after the re-evaluation period.

Dieng has received inconsistent minutes through the first 16 Thunder games. This season, he’s averaged 3.5 points and 2.6 rebounds in 11.6 minutes per game. His inconsistent minutes, paired with the Thunder organization wanting him to get more in-game action, led to Dieng being sent to OKC’s G-League affiliate, the OKC Blue, for Friday’s game when the injury occurred.

Stay tuned for more developments on Dieng’s recovery.
