Echo Joins Energy FC as Majority Owner

In what is an exciting move for Oklahoma City soccer, OKC based investment firm Echo, has reached an agreement to join the Energy FC ownership group as the majority owner.

Echo, founded by Christian Kanady in 2010, invests in multiple industries with two of it’s biggest investments being found in Wheeler Bio and Prarie Surf Studios and is known for its highly successful investments and developments in the Oklahoma City area.

This move will allow the Energy to continue the dreams and goals that its founders Tim McLaughlin and Bob Funk Jr. had when this club started, along with its core values. Having kept their USL Championship agreement, the club looks to rejoin competition after the completion of the new stadium in accordance with the Oklahoma City MAPS4 Project.

“We are excited to see the continued investment in Energy FC to return the club to the USL Championship following a challenging period with finding a venue to call home that the fans and supporters deserve, said USL President Jeremy Alumbaugh. “Founding partners Bob Funk Jr. and Tim McLaughlin have proven that the Oklahoma City community embraces professional soccer, and we’re looking forward to seeing this passion grow even more by welcoming additional investors that are committed to the completion of a new downtown stadium.”

The City has missed its club in a myriad of ways, and with the partnering of Echo, the Energy FC is sure to be catapulted to new heights for the immediate and foreseeable future.
