It doesn’t take a large sample size to realize who the standouts are on a basketball roster. In my four days in Las Vegas, and two watched Thunder games during the 2K25 NBA Summer League, the three standouts were the trio of Dillon Jones, Ajay Mitchell, and Adam Flagler.
Jones, OKC’s 26th pick, Mitchell, the 38th, and Flagler, a two-way player already signed to the Thunder, were the three that made the most significant impact, and that’s what Mark Daigneault and Thunder majority owner Clay Bennet were in town to see.
After shutting down third-year forward Ousmane Dieng for the Las Vegas Summer League, the Thunder were less competitive than they were in Salt Lake City, losing both games by an average of 27 points. Despite that, there were high points in our three standouts.
Adam Flagler
Flagler’s on a two-way contract and is a sharpshooter, so it’s safe to say that he had a green light, understandably so, shooting 10-of-18 from 3 through the first two games of the Las Vegas Summer League, averaging 21.5 points per game. He’s one of the more experienced guys on the roster.
Dillon Jones
Jones is the best overall player on the Summer League roster. It’s clear why Presti traded to select him late in the first round. He’s an above-average shooter; he can handle the ball, has underrated court vision, does a uniquely good job getting to his spots on the court, can attack the basket, and can defend.
It’s becoming clear that Jones will see some minutes as a rookie despite a stacked roster and scarce minutes.
Ajay Mitchell
Mitchell is a minor drop-off from Jones, but it is only minor. Sam Presti clearly did his research on both players because they’re both high-level players who are NBA-ready right now, which isn’t typical for a mid-second-round pick.
Mitchell is a scoring guard who has averaged 18 points, 4 assists, and 2.5 rebounds per game through both games on 43.7 percent shooting.
The Thunder have at least two games left. They’ll play the winless Phoenix Suns tonight at 7 PM CT, then the Golden State Warriors, who entered Wednesday 2-0, on Friday.

Great article!
