The Oklahoma City Thunder (2-4) lost to the Miami Heat (3-3) Monday night 118-90. Coming into the game, the Thunder were looking to build off their last win vs the Orlando Magic, and get their first winning streak of the season.
The Heat built a big lead in the third quarter, their 20-0 run in just a five-minute stretch is when the Thunder saw their chances slip away. Thunder head coach Mark Daigneault sat the starters for the entire fourth quarter.
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander led all scorers for OKC with 18 points. Darius Bazley scored 16 and Luguentz Dort scored 12. They were the only players to score in double figures for the Thunder.
They were just 13 of 48 from 3-point range.
In the third quarter, OKC cut the Heat lead to just four points, and the Heat responded by turning the game into a runaway.
Heat head coach Eric Spoelstra entered Kelly Olynyk into the starting lineup for this game, and he made a case that he should remain, making five three-pointers, and finishing the game with 19 points.
Bam Adebayo led all scorers with 20 on 9-for-10 shooting. Jimmy Butler finished with 18 points.
Miami has played six games, alternating losses then wins in all six, and has used a different starting five every time.
