There is much to say but very little to reveal about SZA’s new album, CTRL. As Top Dawg Entertainment’s lone R&B artist, SZA is steadily taking the industry by storm. After gaining recognition from fellow collaborators and big names in the game, it is amazing that she ever came close to ending her career back in October.
Love Galore is the heartbreak song twisted with the turmoil of forgetting a persistent ex-love. The twenty-six year old artist refuses to disappoint with this collaboration beautifully decorated with hints of jazz, a grandeur baseline, “raspy” vocals, and all the complicated emotions that stems from a broken relationship.
If her music does not stop you in your tracks, then her music video probably will. Directed by Nabil, SZA’s story comes to a bloody end after adorning monarch butterflies and sexual tension with Travis Scott.
Now if only she could pull a Bryson Tiller and surprise us with the rest of her album before the release date on June 9th.
