Bills shut out Giants in second preseason game

When Ben McAdoo was announced as the head coach for the New York Giants, most fans were excited to see if he could restore some of the magic Big Blue had their last two Super Bowl runs.

Their preseason hasn’t gotten off to a good start with them making multiple mistakes on both sides of the ball in their preseason opener against the Miami Dolphins, losing 27-10.

They followed that loss with another disappointing performance, getting shut out 21-0 by the Buffalo Bills on Saturday.

The offense had trouble moving the ball down the field and resembled what the Giants showing last year with poor offensive line play. It’s a good thing this is just the preseason because they couldn’t have played a worse first half. Eli Manning went 4-of-9 for 44 yards and only got one first down in his limited play.

They turned the ball over twice in the first half which led to two Buffalo touchdowns. On the flip side, the Bills played a great first half scoring all their points in the second quarter. LeSean McCoy caught a 13-yard touchdown pass from Tyrod Taylor and followed that scoring drive with Jonathan Williams diving into the end zone to put them up 14-0, completing a 10-play 49-yard drive for Buffalo. They weren’t done there as EJ Manuel connected with Greg Little for a 19-yard touchdown to have them up 21-0 at the half.

The Giants have always been a second half team even during their two Super Bowl runs, but while the defense is shaping up to look pretty good, the offense needs work before the regular season starts. The next game in their preseason slate is against the New York Jets, who are just coming off a loss to the Washington Redskins.
